This handsome square piano was built by Chickering of Boston during the Civil War era. Chickering was the first piano manufacturer in America. This piano is made of Brazilian Rosewood, with real ivory keys and is of the massive Empire Revival style. Note the octagon legs and clean, simple lines, all hallmarks of this classic style. The outside of this piano has been restored to very good condition. Its engraved serial number is 4 making this piano about 135 years old.
I love this piano, but do not have room for it in my current home. It is a simply stunning piece and would be an excellent addition to any home whether as an instrument to be played, a conversation piece, or a buffet/table/stand of some sort.
I paid $7,000 for this piano. I was asking $5,000. It is now reduced to $3,500! Cash or certified local bank check only.
